Like tacos? What about music? I got you covered…
For the last three years, Taco Bell has been hard at work feeding bands on tour as part of their Feed The Beat program. Last fall 100 of these bands participated in the "Best Of the Beat" competition. Fans voted on their favorite bands and the top 3 went on to become the winners of the program.
Taco Bell re-launched www.feedthebeat.com and is currently offering free MP3 downloads from the winners of the program. Some of the winners invested their winnings into recording new music while others opted to go different route. Regardless, the singular mission was clear for Taco Bell, work to help expose the public to the best in new music.
Go to www.feedthebeat.com and download brand new songs from Hit The Lights and Thousand Foot Krutch as well as get a free download from Fireflight.
Also, next time you head to your local Taco Bell for some eats, be sure to read up on the bands on the sauce packets.

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND ITUNES PASS LAUNCHES THIS WEEK
Special Package Includes Upcoming Studio Album, Exclusive Live Tracks, Documentary, Videos And More
The Dave Matthews Band iTunes Pass launches today, April 21, on the iTunes Store. With iTunes Pass, music fans can get new and exclusive music, video, remixes, art and other content from their favorite artists over a set period of time, delivered to their iTunes library as soon as it's available.
Fans who purchase the Dave Matthews Band iTunes Pass ($19.99) beginning today will receive an instant download of the band’s latest single, “Funny the Way It Is,” and the new album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, as soon as it’s released on June 2nd. They’ll also receive plenty of additional content from now through September, including Scenes from Big Whiskey, a documentary on the making of the record, exclusive bonus music (including b-sides and live music from the band’s Spring and Summer 2009 tours), two tracks in advance of the album’s release (“Shake Me Like A Monkey” and “Lying In the Hands of God”), a download of the “Funny the Way It Is” music video, a deluxe digital booklet of the album artwork, drawn by Matthews, and more.
Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, which was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), is the follow-up to 2005’s Stand Up, the fourth consecutive Dave Matthews Band studio album to enter The Billboard 200 at No. 1. With its celebratory spirit and lyrical ruminations on fragile mortality, Big Whiskey pays tribute to the band’s saxophonist, LeRoi Moore, and features some of his last recordings. Moore passed away in the summer of 2008 while the group was on tour and midway through making the album.
The remaining founding members – Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin) – kicked off the group’s Spring 2009 tour last week at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The group, named the top-drawing American band in the world by Billboard, will perform on NBC’s “TODAY” show on Rockefeller Plaza on June 5th.
Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King hits stores on June 2nd.

Papa Roach front man Jacoby Shaddix talks about their new CD "Metamorphosis" and comments on the scathing impact the economy has had on U.S citizens. Featured across major news networks including CNN, Reuters, and many local stations across the country, Jacoby talks about the inspiration behind Papa Roach's number one hit "Lifeline" and the work they have been inspired to take on. The band is currently working with a California charity called Loaves and Fishes (http://www.sacloaves.org), helping support the many people losing their homes and being forced to live in tents due the current state of our economy.

New York, NY – April 20, 2009) – Coming off a set of highly acclaimed shows at SxSW, North Carolina based rock band The Avett Brothers gear up to begin their cross country tour starting April 16th in Indianapolis and wrapping on July 25th in Myrtle Beach. This 48 show schedule includes 8 supporting dates with The Dave Matthews Band and one with Widespread Panic. The Brothers will also be stopping at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Sasquatch! Music Festival, and the Forecastle Festival.
Having played over 200 shows in the last year, the Brothers have long since perfected the art of live performance. Their electrifying force on the stage radiates onto the crowd creating a charge of energy and excitement throughout their fans of multiple generations. The bond that The Avett Brothers form with the audience is both intimate and treasured to both fan and artist alike. To be witness to The Avett Brothers performance is to become part of a family who welcomes back the true pleasures, beauty and magic of music.
“They’re traveling troubadours of the inner workings of the heart and head, these men in their stage suits wielding banjos with the force of weapons,” says Paste Magazine. “They communicate all the gray areas and intricacies thereof through simple sonic textures; bluegrass strings join keys, kick drums, sweet crooning and guttural screams.”
The songs are honest: just chords with real voices singing real melodies. But, the heart and the energy with which they are sung, is really why people are talking, and why so many sing along. They are a reality in a world of entertainment build with smoke and mirrors, and when they play, the common man can break the mirrors and blow the smoke away, so that all that’s left behind is the unwavering beauty of the songs. That’s the commotion, that’s the celebration, and wherever The Avett Brothers are, that’s what you’ll find.
The Avett Brothers are currently featured on the March/April cover of American Songwriter magazine talking for the first time about their upcoming American Recordings debut (and 10th studio album), I and Love and You slated for an August 11th release and produced by Grammy award winning Rick Rubin.
The story of The Avett Brothers has been told by word of mouth until now. Come witness what thousands have been loyally following and speaking about for years…

Through a “tweet” on Twitter today, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND have announced that they
are giving away their new single, “Funny
the Way It Is,” as a free download for one week. Dave
(@davejmatthews) and bassist Stefan Lessard (@slessard) are both very active on
Twitter, keeping touch with their huge fanbase and decided it was the perfect place
to get the word out. The song comes off their upcoming album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King,
which hits stores on June 2nd. It will be the band's first studio
album since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore last summer. The "GrooGrux
King" in the album title refers to Moore’s
nickname within the group. Matthews created all of the artwork for Big Whiskey, including
the richly detailed cover illustration that puts a GrooGrux spin on New Orleans’
traditional Mardi Gras parades while evoking the joy and the sorrow expressed
in the album’s songs. Matthews has designed logos and other elements in
the past, but this is the first time he has created the entire packaging for a Dave
Matthews Band album.
Guitarist Tim Reynolds will play on the album, making it his first recording with DMB since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls). Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King will also feature the recording debuts of Rashawn Ross who joined the band in 1996 but hadn’t played on any of their studio releases yet and Moore’s replacement, saxophonist Jeff Coffin who also is a member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. DMB just released a trailer for the new album which can be seen below.
Dave Matthews Band kicks off its 2009 tour tonight with a
show at Madison Square
Garden in New York City and will be on the road through

Manchester Orchestra and Favorite Gentlemen/Canvasback music are proud to present “I’ve Got Friends” the third chapter of their video series today on MySpace.
The full-album series concept was conceived by the Emmy
Award winning directing team of Clay Lipsky and Jason Bognacki of Destroy Rock
Music Inc., whom also directed “I Can Barely Breathe” from the
band’s debut I’m Like a Virgin
Losing a Child.
Lipsky notes that the vision behind the videos are to “create a cinematic collage of decaying film and lost memories intertwined with a loose narrative about a young woman on a surreal journey to find what she is missing.” The videos to follow will continue to discover the many layers hiding within the new record.
